Site briefing

Protected by the outer reef, there's a lot here for exploring with scuba and with a snorkel. Inside the reef for snorkel, the reef, and outside of it for scuba. Coral regrowth efforts are under way at this site, and the bottom is a mix of old coral, sand and lava rock.

Entry and route

Access via the beach entry by the lifeguard station. You'll need to walk over the lava rock, and swim out via the lane by the established buoys - about 320 degrees heading from the beach. Stay in that lane and stay off the bottom left and right - that's where the regrowth is happening. You'll also see where waves are breaking, out on the right side of the bay (as you're looking at the water) - avoid that area as it's the defined surfing area.
