Site briefing

This is a shore dive just off Harper fishing pier in Southworth. There is parking to the left of the pier by the old coffee shack (not open). Be careful climbing down the rock wall when getting ready to enter the water. Be mindful of fishermen on the pier as you will see lots of tackle on the bottom around the pier.

Entry and route

Once you enter the water on the left (west) side of the pier. Fin out toward the end of the pier and drop down. You will find a rope covered in seaweed and if you follow it, it will take you to the first of two wrecks. Once you hit the first wreck, just continue on the rope to the 2nd wreck and then return to the pier. If you cross to the other side of the pier, there are some on pylons from the old pier scattered about the bottom and covered in life. The overall depth is fairly shallow in the 20 FSW to 45 FSW range. On a large exchange day, the current can pick up here, but it is generally manageable.

  • Jun 19, 2026 · Johnnie · visibility 2 m (7 ft) — Weeknight dive after work. Weather was great. Found a lot of squid jigs under the pier and Sterling found an SMB near the first wreck. Visibility was typical for summer, but it was still a great dive. Beats watching TV after work!
