Site briefing
Glen-Ayr is a private resort north of Hoodsport and offers small cabin rentals and RV spots. They have a private dock, a gear washing station, and a heated gear room for hanging and drying gear. You can also pay a day use fee if you only want to dive (similar to Sund Rock). They also offer dive packages that coordinate with YSS and Sund Rock. The staging area is the private pier across the street from the resort, which has a staircase that leads down to the beach for easy shore entry.
How to dive it
Swim out on the north side of the pier and drop down (distance is up to you). The general direction of the dive will be to the north and northeast of the pier. The beach slopes away fairly quick as you head northeast and is mostly muddy bottom. There are various things you can find such as cement pipe pieces, an old toilet, and a tire field. The main attraction is a deep rock garden at about 98fsw that can house octopus and wolf eels. This is an active boating area so a dive float is a good idea and it is recommended to exit in the shallows close to the beach to avoid any boat traffic.

- Jun 7, 2026 · Johnnie · visibility 2 m (7 ft) — This was my first dive at this site. We just headed Northeast and checked things out. It drops off rather quickly and we found ourselves at 80fsw rather fast. We came back up to about 60fsw and followed the bank north for a while to conserve gas. Found some of the cement pipe pieces. Came to a spot that looked almost like an underwater cliff where it dropped pretty deep. Turned around there and headed back at about 40fsw to the pier area. Next dive I would like to head out and find the rock garden at about 98fsw and see if there are any octos at home.
