Site briefing
Parking at Triton Cove State Park. Discovery Pass is required for parking. There is a vault toilet on site and gear can be staged near the boat launch. This is an active boat launch so be mindful of boaters also needing the boat ramp and dock and make sure to use a dive float to warn boaters when diving here. The Cove is generally not too sensitive to current, but check conditions before going. Enter at the boat launch and be careful upon entry as the ramp can be slick.
Entry and route
After entering the water via the boat launch, head southeast into the middle of the cove. The depth is relatively shallow from the middle of the cove to the shore, ranging from 15fsw to about 40fsw, but as you head further south east to the far side of the cove the depth will drop to about 80fsw. There is a rock structure around the middle of the cove in about 20-35fsw with lots of sea life. At about 40fsw, the bottom becomes bare and muddy. This is a good dive for beginner divers as long as they keep their depth above 60fsw.
